Both cards are foil, but one has "Preview Edition" in gold stamp along the left side and the other one does not. I think the retail one is the first one. I have them both.

Ok since mine doesn't says "Preview Edition", I'll file it under non retail. Also added a picture of it.

the answer to this question is that the retail verison was sold in a set at places like walmart instead of inserted into packs.

I wasn't asking where they were sold, but what was the physical difference. "Retail" clearly indicates how it was sold but not how it differs, if at all.
