I have always held the belief that I am in this as a hobby. I could give a crap how much cards are worth! I truly feel that if I am patient enough I will eventually get the cards that I want for the price I am willing to pay. Call me cheap if you want, but I have a recent example of this paying off.

First card, bought by Roberto for $54 including s/h...

Second card, not even a month later, the same card comes up and I snag it for $12 including s/h...

That is almost 80% less. Patience is a virtue...

Yeah, except you weren't patient and bid $49.55 on the first card, which means you were ready to pay that for the card. Luck is a virtue, in that you lost the first auction :)

I'm confused. What's the purpose of this thread? To rub in Roberto's face that he paid more than you?

Seems childish to me.

I must assume that your ;) smilie means that were running the price up, making Roberto pay as much as possible.

I certainly hope that wasn't his intention!

I think Roberto is a lot like myself,it is not the price! it is the card! he wants it and he wants it NOW! i myself was accused of running up the prices 3 years ago by Wil "aka" AIRCORP! yes the same person who was paying $300 plus for the 02 mirror golds & the 03 leaf emeralds.whining to another collector on this site about it,"before this site was here" THAT in 05 i was running the prices up on # to 25 and less cards! i was in a Juan MAD zone! and winning 99% of them all,at 25% and less of what he was paying for the 02 & 03's.collectors of Juan went on the CHEAP! and i was loving it very much thank you! could care less what he thought"knowing what he paid in the past" and what the max collectors were paying at the time that i was in the zone.i know how Mike bids he gets aggravated and keeps bidding.he has let me know quite a bit that i already have a card that i am bidding on and he needs it. i just tell him i also want it! GOOD LUCK:p. my deal is this, why have one when you can have 2 at twice the cost! i was the same way at shows. i bought every thing when i could find it. so yes patience is a virtue. but in card collecting.

YOU SNOOZE
YOU LOOSE!:p

thats what makes it fun........ if it were all easy and you could have it all, it would not be as fun. just wait, I think they can make whatever you want on the enterprise in star trek.

i do not think you could do a serial numbered card in a replicater! Data tried on a 61 Maris! could not get the gum smell correct on that one!
