I cannot believe that no one paid $1,000 for the 3 Ted Williams Autos!!! Wow that was really full of sarcasm...
Seriously Jacob...I cannot believe you got even a single offer. That person must not have realized who they were dealing with. Everyone here knows how much you think of your stuff. Why is it that some people want to buy stuff for cheap and then turn around and try to get top dollar for it??
If you put that up in an auction with no reserve you might get $400...maybe. If you are as desperate to raise cash as you say in your item description then you would do just that. This from the guy who just bought Juan's old Vette.

"BOYS OH BOYS,I THINK HE'S BACK FOR HIS NOON FEEDING!"
I think it would be interesting for Jacob to tell us where he bought the red card, who he bought the red card from, and what he paid for the red card.
I know Aircorp42K and I have all four Ted cards and we do not have a red one between us.
I believe the red card is fake and would caution anyone on this site to only make a nominal purchase of the card as an example of a suspected fake Juan cards.
Would it make sense for this site to start a section for suspected fake Juan Gonzalez cards so that we could all share and educate ourselves?

Uh, "come again"??
I bought the red one outside of eBay, but it was originally listed on eBay. I made the seller an offer he couldn't resist, and he closed the auction down. I normally don't deal outside of eBay, but I knew it was going to end up sold offline because of its rarity, and because you guys were watching!
Without disclosing the price I paid, I will say I paid $400 each for the black and blue cards. So you can see I had $800 invested before I ever bought the red card. And I paid more than $200 for it, so I was in over $1000.
If you think it's too high, than make an offer, but I'm not going to give them away. Oh and if anyone thinks the red is fake, LOL, that is a good one. Why would it be fake, because it was signed in red? It has the gold B on the back, the signature is definitely Juan's, and it is numbered. It should be added to the website as a variation, because there is no doubt it is real.
Don't hate me just because I have the only red one! :-p I'm just trying to raise cash for a game used glove I found- $500. I'm not trying to scalp anyone. Just easier to sell three cards than 300 for $3 each.

I DO NOT THINK SO! read the above! as for the price, how many 93 refractor psa 10"s were bought at over $800 12-15 now they can be had for under $200.it is what the market will bare. put them on ebay at a start price of 50 bucks each and we will see what they are TRULY worth!as for the red ink i see you did not respond about it being sent to psa to have it authenticated.that brings more into question about the cards authenticity of it being a PACK PULLED CARD!

i would pay $300 for all three, but they would have to come to me in advance of payment

thats $100 each
Jacob,
Besides having all four of the Ted cards, I have three with the B on the back that are not numbered. I have a hard time believing that I am so special that I am the only with with unnumbered Ted cards with a B on the back. It would not take a lot of work to take my unnumbered extra Ted cards and make them into a numbered Ted card. Red is fake and someone took one of the B cards and made it into an autograph. There are a LOT of Juan collectors that have been chasing cards for over ten years on this site. To have a red card majically appear after ten years is kind of strecthing things. Believe what you want to believe but I for one do not buy into the story of red.

real or not real...... does it matter? he isnt getting rid of them. if you want them, you better get the cards in advance of the payment.

Dan, I have respect for your opinion, although I disagree. I can't see someone forging Juan's signature, Jordan's, Tiger Woods, someone like that, but Gonzo? Nah, that's not going to happen. I could be wrong, but that is my opinion.
The fact that it has a gold B stamped on the back further legitimizes it to me. I would rather have a red signed one with a gold b, than an unstamped one signed in blue or black.
which one do you think PSA would authenticate? 1. Red sig, gold stamp on back. 2. Black sig, no stamp on back. One is an official pack pull, the other isn't.
Chris, I wouldn't sell them to you if you paid me the full grand. $300? I wouldn't sell the red one for that alone, much less to you. I blocked you from bidding on my auctions a long time ago (when you got your 50th negative feedback).
This thread is a hoot, although I'm not sure what the point of it is. Carry on!

The prices that you group of guys are willing to pay for Juan cards is the reason that someone WOULD forge a signature.
.. but really, Jacob can offer his cards for whatever he wants, what exactly is the point of this thread?
Jacob,
I have pointed out to the guys on this site that someone is putting out fake 1987 Gastonia cards. The difference between the fake and real card is that the (c) on the real one is smaller than the fake reprint. They did not get the font size or did not realize it when they reissued new 1987 Gastonia. There are other examples that have come up. The point is that there are Gonzalez cards that are fake out there.
The second point is that although Juan is not on the radar of Becket, or anyone else, this fan site is an indication that people on this site either claim to have these cards ( we have at least one nut cases who could not possibly have the Gonzalez cards he claims) or we have lots of nuts willing to drive up the cost of a card to add to their collection. The bottom line is that dealers are feeding into the viewers of this site. As an example, I have about 360 different PSA 10 cards. Why do you think dealers even consider turning into PSA Gonzalez cards? The answer is that I keep bidding and buying.
Jacob, I still like you but the red card is still fake. It may be a one of a kind fake, which make owning it interesting, but it is still fake. This card walks like a duck, quakes like a duck and is a duck. I also spoke to one of two guys who flew to Puerto Rico to get Juan to sign the cards and he told me the problem with the ink and how they could not get it to stick to the glossy surface of the cards. This is the guy that sold be the B cards that are unsigned. That is why there is black and blue ink. This is also why I really think your card is fake.

Yes, it is fake. I bought one of these 3 years ago. Nothing new here.
