Someone please explain to me how this can be an $84 card? What does that make my blue and black versions worth?

there may be 30000 of those made, but how many have you seen for sale? zero, that right, none. only 3 juan collectors have them, and Mike got his from me. when you add to the fact that it also has Pudge, Canseco, and Will Clark, it makes it a rare piece as those guys still carry a large following in the collector market. 30000 were made and distributed. more than half were left under the seat at the game. 10000 went home and ended up in a closet or a trash can. the bottom line is it has not been listed on ebay in my 11 years of looking. the Skybox auto has been on dozens of times. i also find it interesting on how you find little value in cards you dont have but want to over value the cards you have several of. I agree that $84 is a little too much for the skybox card. But I also know that I just sold one of the two extras I have of the rangers giveaway for $35 cash. Not bad for an item that has 30000 copies.

ok how about the 1990 bowman sandberg front and juan back it took 18 years for me to get that one very rare ooooo ahhhhh. now in the last 3 weeks this guy has had 8 lots of 25 for sale wow real rare!!!!!! and how about the 1997 studio portrait collection???remember that one wow rare.Right! and only 3 people have the item numbered to 30,000 because it is on the ODDBALL LIST! not an item i have been busting down web sites to find.even if you can prove some bonehead at the ballpark burned 99% of them starting up the barbecue.that would still leave 300! and no autograph.and the 1993 upper deck world series contenders sheets /5000 i had never heard of this until about 1 1/2 years ago i got a lot of 10,then so did mike and i have see lots as high as 100 of these 5 times and alot of 10 lots.so with a print run of 30k they will start coming out of the wood work! sooooo if a guy came up to me at says pssssst i will sell you 120 of these very rare 1994 opening day lithos for $4200 or i have 50 of these skybox autos i will sell you for the same money. well a duh!

The bottom line is that there are about 20 of us seriously collecting Gonzalez. With a print run of 50 there should not be serious bidding. The exception is when a new collector goes on ebay and has more money than brians. Eventually the new bidders run out of money. We have all seen this over time. I can see a competitive bidding war for items 10 or less. When you see Gonzalez autographs with a print run of 25 the bidding is never going to be $84.
