(when I have time) I am going to add something to the list so you can designate a card as "in the mail" so that you can identify those cards that you don't have but also don't need to purchase any longer.

jjt111 10-03-2006 05:12 PM

I'm not that smart when it comes to computer internet stuff. Some days I can get into 1998 - 1999 years to update but most of the time I get this when I try to edit those years >

Page cannot be found

The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please try the following:
  • If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.
  • Open the www.juangonzalez.vintagegaming.org home page, and then look for links to the information you want.
  • Click the Back button to try another link.
Problem: Unknown Error -1.

Must be too much data for your browser. You can try a different browser, I suggest firefox

I'll try to add a page feature today so that all of the year's data isn't displayed on one page, which should also rectify the problem for you.

jjt111 10-03-2006 05:20 PM

I'll try Firefox...Thanks!

jjt111 10-03-2006 06:32 PM

Seems to be a little better. I'm in for now anyway. Thanks

I got a 1999 Pacific card marked on front Power Elite - home run heroes. On back it is card #15 of 16 HRH. What am I missing that I can't find it on the list?

Thanks,
Jonas

Gonzaleznut 10-03-2006 06:44 PM

Look under the "H's" It is call Home Run Heroes. It was a joint set put out by the major card companies. Juan's card just happens to be made by Pacific.

I like having the entire year on one page. Please don't change it.

It would be optional of course.

If you have a single card to update or check, the quickest way is to enter the card number or part of the name in the card search form. If the card has a number like R9, try R9 and then just 9 if R9 has no results.

jjt111 10-03-2006 11:12 PM

Working good now. Putting the cards in the search method is much faster.

Thanks again,
Jonas

I like having the value of one's collection. However, I think it would be more accurate if it took into account multiples of a card. For example, if I have 3 of a $6 card then that should show as $18 of value.

Is it possible to do that Freddie?

Yes, I can do just about anything with the list given the time and inclination to do it.

Gonzaleznut 10-10-2006 04:42 PM

Are you going to do it?

freddie 10-10-2006 06:43 PM

Yes, I had already expected such a request to be made by those with extras listed.

jjt111 10-10-2006 11:03 PM

Honestly I never noticed that there was a value attached to the collection. When Beckett values 98 Topps Tek Defractors at .40 – 1.00 and you’d be willing to pay 10 times that along with part of your collection being valued at “NA”, why acknowledge the collection value. Beckett is a great tool to use along with others sources to determine a card value but never a collection value. I have over 100 cards valued at “NA” that adds a total of zero to my valued collection according to Beckett. I just paid 200 for a Juan signed Ted Williams 151 card that will add what to my collection dollar? As every Juan collected has seen, your return on investment will be in the red and I certainly don’t care to see how red that has become the past several years. But adding a multiple card dollar won’t hurt I guess or even assigning a generic low – high value to cards that Beckett hasn’t valued. Any info that collectors can use to motivate them to collect is a value. Just know that your collection cost you much more and is probably valued at much less.

Just an opinion,
Jonas

freddie 10-10-2006 11:12 PM

Defractors are at a $1.00 because I forgot to change the value when I input those cards. Beckett doesn't list those cards.

Where did you find this?

jjt111 10-11-2006 12:29 AM

Pure luck my friend! When the Ted card came up on ebay I placed a bid as soon I seen it and pushed it up in price. I did that because I expected to be outbid at the end with someone who just has more money. But I wanted everyone that sells cards to see the value of those cards with the hope of additional sellers. I got lucky enough that someone contacted me and said they had one of those cards and asked if I would purchase it. Needless to say it is now in the mail and on it's way! I'll scan it with my scanner once I get back from vacation on the 23rd. They both should be here by then waiting.

Shit, now I'm going to lose the $18 for the 18 cards that I'm sure I paid about $600 for.;) But I really thought that was a keying error to begin with.

Why didn't you bid on the 97 mirror gold 142 card? $11 is cheap for a 97 card that has a reported 30 card print run. Hell, I almost went higher just to remove it from circulation.

Jonas

freddie 10-11-2006 01:26 AM

I didn't know it was only limited to 30. The select cards have the print runs on the list but the certified cards don't.

freddie 10-11-2006 01:48 AM

Someone want to list the print runs for the 97 pinnacle cards so we can update the list?

Gonzaleznut 10-11-2006 01:54 AM

I see those mirror golds way too often to be only limited to 30.

jjt111 10-11-2006 02:07 AM

I would have to agree that there are more then 30. The certified certified Mirror Gold is noted as being printed to 30. The Mirror Blacks had to be like 1 of 1's as I never see them listed for any player and haven't seen two graded of the same player on any population reports.

Any thoughts?

I agree about the golds and the blacks. Likely 1 of 1s.

Do either of you have the " Standard catalog of baseball cards" book? Mine got thrown out by the wife as it took too much room in the book case. Might have to get one from amazon.com to get some info.

Jonas

jjt111 10-11-2006 05:16 AM

A question for Fred. Where did you get the picture of the 93 Pinnacle cooperstown promo? That's a pretty rare card!

No, I don't have one, but I looked it up on amazon.com and you can pick up the 2006 version pretty cheap.

Actually, I had that picture and posted it here. I don't remember where I got it. I have had it for a long time.

jjt111 10-11-2006 05:04 PM

I know of two people that have em and one of them is thinking about selling his. I was just trying to get a possible print run figure on how many Juan cards there are. I expect the price to be out of my league.
