Too funny.

I forgot to pay my eBay fees and my account was suspended so when my snipe bid on the 1993 Refractor was placed, it wasn't allowed. I bid $110 and I would have most likely won.

No you would not have. Rob had a $150 proxy bid on it. I was so pissed at him for outbidding me. I could have had that card for $43. He said he didn't realize I was bidding on it.

freddie 12-05-2006 02:28 PM

$150? That seller has sold several PSA9 recently that only sold for $120 - $130 and Rob didn't win those so I assumed he didn't bid that high on this one.

Too bad that your agreement broke down. This is what I am doing for you, Mike and Jonas.

I used to scan the new auctions and put my bids immediately into my snipe program. Now I scan new auctions to see what is coming up and any good buy it nows. I no longer schedule my snipe bids until the last day of the auction. If I see that one of you is winning an item with at least a semi respectable bid and the item isn't rare, then I won't bid on it. By rare, I mean like a card serial numbered around 50 or less or exceptions like the 93 Finest Refractor.

Of course, I am not bidding on many items right now so I don't have much of an effect on what you pay for cards anyway. The eagerness of Puerto Ricans to pay alot plus Rob's desire to own the market have greatly turned me off. I feel if I just wait, even if it is years, these cards are going to be had for a lot cheaper. I may miss out on the rare stuff but I am the opposite of Rob, low number serial cards do not interest me any more than commons. I only care about variety.

Gonzaleznut 12-05-2006 06:40 PM

I COULDN"T AGREE MORE!! That is exactly how I think it should work. I don't have a problem with one of you wanting a card and if it is rare then it is fair game. Otherwise we should have consideration for each other.

What made me mad about Rob is that he already has two 93 refractors. He doesn't need another one. I don't have any. It just made me a little angry.

jjt111 12-06-2006 01:25 AM

With PSA having over 170 of those graded and BGS having 31 I would think the ungraded ones like I have are the rarest. But mine is off center much like this one ( 280056734372 ) so I would like a 9 or 10 as well to replace it. I did not place a bid on the the one Mike had a bid on hoping he would get it to fill his hole in his collection. Next time maybe.

Good thing that we aren't after Pudge's 93 refractor

PSA10 $2400 http://cgi.ebay.com/1993-FINEST-REFR...QQcmdZViewItem

The PSA 9 selles for $600 - $800

Gonzaleznut 12-06-2006 12:54 PM

Rob also won a PSA 10 Juan 93 refractor yesterday. He got it for $177. Unbelievable!! I am going to try and convince him to sell me his PSA 9 he just won now. We'll see.
