Alan, can you scan each 94 Post Printing proof card?

Since you have all of the cards, can you verify if the picture are correct?

I don't have all of the cards. I am missing two of them.

freddie 08-08-2007 09:26 PM

 You have all of the R3 cards, can you verify that the pictures of the R3 cards are correct?

That's an awesome find, Jonas! I'm excited just to see a scan of one!

BTW, what ever happened with that Crash the Game Instant Win card you ordered from Tommy T? Was it not the right thing, or did you get it and are holding out on us?:)

Kyle

jjt111 08-09-2007 01:59 AM

No, Tommy messed up, but made up for it when I ordered my "catch Mike in the year 2000" package I bought from him.

How many cards did you get from him? Did he give you a good deal?

I bought like 35 cards from him for around 200. His cards are most always in the middle of the Beckett pricing. When you can fill holes in a year that you have close to 80% of the cards for that I feel you are doing OK.

I agree. I spent a little over a thousand with him and got about 150 cards I needed.

For the leaf exhibit cards, if your scanning software has a 'Magazine' setting, try enabling it for those cards to see if it will remove the moire pattern effect.

jjt111 08-09-2007 09:55 PM

Those exhibit cards look like it cost them near nothing to make! I just bought my first one and kinda looking forward to seeing one in person.

freddie 08-09-2007 09:57 PM

I need to buy one just to figure out how to scan them.

freddie 08-09-2007 10:22 PM

Ok, so I bought one now.

Question, does the last two number of the "1921" indicate the print run for every card in the series. Rob, of course, you have a lot of them, is this the case for all? Especially the 1921 - 1927 cards.

Gonzaleznut 08-09-2007 11:25 PM

Yes, the year number corresponds to the print run, i.e. 1921 = /21, 1946 = /46, etc.

The exception are the Second Edition cards where no serial numbering is present. It is believed that they are of the same print runs as their 1st edition counterparts, but that has not ever been confirmed.

If you ever told me I'd spend only $3 on a Juan card that only 26 was made I wouldn't had believed you a few years back. Must be like the tek cards with little interest as a set collection.

Gonzaleznut 08-10-2007 09:50 PM

We are still doing great in our pursuit of 4,000 scans. We now have 80% of the scans done in 18 different years with 11 of those years greater than 90% complete. Eight years are 100% complete. Keep it up!!

While scanning and going through cards I came across this. It's a 1999 Ultimate Victory #113 Now there are two parallels. I thought one was numbered and one wasn't numbered to 100. That is what I thought I had. Until I scanned them. Now I don't know what I have!?#@ One is stamped 65/100 and the other is writen with silver pen 24/100/

could be one of those upper deck replacement cards!

jjt111 08-12-2007 11:36 PM

You are correct. It's just a replacement for one that got damaged I bet!

We just need to keep it up. We will get there.

I have quoted a post from the beginning of this thread from 11/08/2006. We have now blown through 4,000 scans only 9 months later. That is an average of about 12 card scans added every day!!

It is a testament to the teamwork and cooperation displayed on this site. Over 75% of the items have a scan now. Great job. Keep it going.

Cool card! The hand numbered one is definitely an UD replacement. I pulled a Parallel 100 of McGwire back in 1999 (BV $100 back then, LOL), and I sent it to UD because it had teeth marks across the top. The one from the pack was machine numbered, but the one I got back had the same hand numbering as your Juan.

Yours scanned really well. I don't know how you did it. All of mine look like crap when I scan them no matter how much I tweak my settings.

freddie 08-14-2007 04:10 PM

To all picture uploaders, if you think you've run out of cards to scan, remember that every card has a back and most of the cards only have the front uploaded! Scan those backs!

Also, if a card is horizontal in nature, try to rotate your image so that it appears natural.

My scanned fine as a color photograph and a greyscale photograph. Did you try setting your scanner to greyscale?

Tried it. I just may not have the right kind of scanner.

Uncut or Promo

I'm not sure if this how the Ballstreet card looks before it is cut or if this was some other type of distribution, like a promo.

Note the little trivia question about Juan on the back.
And note the mis-spelling of Gonzalez on the front and back.
