New Website Address

I would like to move the website to a more fitting address and the best that I've come up with is:

www.juangone.com

What do you think? I used to own www.juangonzalez.org and that is where the previous version of this website was located but I let it lapse and lost it.

It costs:

1 YR $14.95
2 YR $27.95
5 YR $67.95
10 YR $129.95

If anyone would like to donate to this endeavor, I'll tally up the donations and buy the longest registration period. I'll give you a little contributing member icon on your posts as well as recognition and thanks.

If you would like to help out, send whatever to freddie@bingham.net via paypal.

.. and if you have a better idea for a site name, please post it. I've made $0 from those ads on the bottom of the website so I'll be removing those.

How about www.juancollector.com??

nosterbor 08-05-2007 01:15 AM

let me know on what you decide i will contribute

freddie 08-05-2007 01:16 AM

Well, just make suggestions and then we can vote on them with a poll.

nosterbor 08-05-2007 01:31 AM

i would keep it in his full name! so when people do a search that web site will come up and generate more interest in him. no nickmames. i like your org. one.

freddie 08-05-2007 01:57 AM

The website still comes up, it can't be his name unless it is something real long like www.juangonzalezcollectors.com

That is just bad, the shorter the website url the better, that is why I like www.juangone.com

knr47 08-05-2007 02:13 AM

If all of the full name TLD combinations are taken, then I think juangone.com is as good as you are going to get. It's simple, and it even has some assonance going for it. The only other one that I have thought of is juangonzalez19.com, but I still like juangone.com better. Where are you going to register it? I know that Go Daddy sometimes runs sales where you can get the .info and .org domains in addition to the .com for only like $3/year extra.

freddie 08-05-2007 02:16 AM

I register my domains at dotster.

So far Rob has contributed and I've given him a little medal under his name.

Gonzaleznut 08-05-2007 02:41 AM

How will you register it with the search engines???

I think it would be great for this to be one of the top sites, no matter what name we call it, when you google "Juan Gonzalez."

heroesbazaar 08-05-2007 02:45 AM

What ever everyone decides I will go with, because Ilove the site. I will contribute some money later this week.

freddie 08-05-2007 03:48 AM

I don't, I just redirect from the current location to the new and over time the search engines will update their location.

freddie 08-05-2007 05:47 AM

Thanks to knr47 (Kyle) and gonzaleznut (Mike) for their contributions.

Yep, no problems from me.

freddie 08-06-2007 01:14 AM

You need to have the old website redirect people here.

It should be doing that.

jjt111 08-06-2007 02:10 AM

Everytime I go to the collecting tab and insert a card number in the search it logs me out. That is the only place so far I see any problems.

That's working fine. The redirect from the old site isn't at this time.

freddie 08-06-2007 05:51 AM

Now it should be.

The redirect is still not working as of this morning.

freddie 08-06-2007 01:49 PM

It works fine for me, what url is not redirecting for you?

http://juangonzalez.vintagegaming.org - this redirects fine

jjt111 08-07-2007 01:40 AM

http://www.vintagegaming.org/juangonzalez/index.php

That's the one I have always used.

freddie 08-07-2007 02:14 AM

oh that url is really old and I doubt anyone else is using it but it should work now as well.
