Hello. This Auction Is For A Mint, Never Released 1998 Team Pinnacle Insert Card Of Mark McGwire #B9 - Cardinals.
When Pinnacle Brands Inc. Went Bankrupt Late In 1998, They Had A Few Sets That Were Heading To Production, 1998 Select and 1998 Pinnacle Certified. Singles From Both Of These Sets Have Trickled Into The Market Over The Years, But Are Rarely, If Ever Seen. Most Of These Cards Appear To Be One Of A Kind. The Cards Are Numbered B1-B9.
I'm Not Sure What Set These Cards Would Have Came Out Of, Because Their Design Doesn't Really Fit Either Of The Brands. Pinnacle Released A Four Card, Multi Sport Sample Set Using A Similar Design To These Cards, But Those Are Far More Plentiful And Have Different Photos.
I Can't Say For Sure, But I Believe These Are Extremely Limited And Perhaps One Of A Kind. I Have Never Seen Any Other Single From This Set In Over Six Years On Ebay. Truly An Ultra-Tough Item.
