Over $70 for a card numbered to 50!! The funny thing is that I don't know who is crazier, Roberto for paying that much or the guy bidding against him. That means there are two people willing to pay that much for a card that shouldn't go for more than $25.
The Juan pricing has gotten so out of whack!! It must be supply-demand pushing up prices.
I will tell you this, it certainly is taking a lot of the fun out of collecting Juan. That is why I moved to Pudge. His cards are very reasonably priced and you can sometimes find gems. I bought a Pudge jersey card numered to 10 a month ago for $0.01!!!
I am not trying to put Roberto down. It is his money and he can spend it any way he chooses. I am really simply making a commentary on the nature of Juan collecting as I have done several times in the past on this site. |
