print runs
Wonder why as a collector you see a card like 96 Leaf Signature Extened Auto that has a high Beckett price of $50 and most collectors have one and often seen on Ebay with a print run of 1000. Yet the 95 Score Jumbo with a high Beckett price of $8 and very few have one with a print run of 3000. Makes no sense to me. Guess I need more schooling!

I don't think any larger than normal cards get much respect. Do you see the 8x10 cards from Studio that often on eBay? I think those who opened them, stashed them somewhere and don't think about dealing with them much.

I agree with Freddie...There are several older big cards that are very difficult to find because they were put away and many dealers do not want to deal with them. That 1997 Score Jumbo and the 95 Score Rules Jumbos are great examples.

Jonas,
A dealer in town once told told me that a jumbo card will not sell well because it is not the size of a regular baseball card and collectors view it as a "collectable". The same dealer also told me that a baseball card with more than one player does not sell as well as a baseball card with a single player. What do you think about his theory? Dan |

I'm sure any Juan card that has him with say Bonds, Arod or the Rocket has greater value just because they are on the card. You would think that any card with more then one player would draw interest as both player collectors would want it! The jumbo thing makes since but that is alot of cards sitting on shelves. A 1995 card, yet so few collectors have and a 3000 print run. But then again I wasn't aware of other "collectables" with larger runs.

I am now going to make it a quest (in addition to adding scans) to get as many print runs listed under the card descriptions as possible. It is amazing how many cards, especially 2002 and up, have serial numbers.
