What a dilemma.
 

I just love collecting Juan but it is harder and harder to find cards. Now i have had a very serious offer for my collection. I am seriously thinking about it. Wow do you stop an obsession you have had for 21 years?:confused: Don't know if i can.

Would have to be a "Blow me Away" type of offer for me to consider it...My wife laughs and says I'll be buried with Juan...:p

is the offer from someone on this site?

It is close. However i told the guy that the price in the list does not include the 500+ cards that have a price of N/A due to rarity or the 400+ graded cards.

Finally you get someone able to pay $20,000.00 for your collection? If not I recomend you not to sell!

20k no where near what Id consider "blow me away" price....

You will be sorry if you dump the cards.you are into it to deep to stop. Your still a pain in the ass but you should not sell. Just my two cents worth.

20k would have been an insult,i could sell 80 cards for that.

If you can't get new cards then its get boring. Sell.

But wait a minute, this is Rob! Don't tell me now it's just about getting new cards, I thought it was about get Juan Gonzalez cards, even if he has hundreds of the same card, anyway we all know what he is going to do. Isn't it? :rolleyes:

I have to tell you I feel very liberated not collecting Juan anymore...

i still look and bid on cool juan stuff but i still dont win much. if you can get a whole bunch of cash, i would take it. there are so many other players who sell for far less. you could build an amazing collection of another player for a tenth of what you spend on juan. ultimately, i am having more fun w/ it now that i can actually win cards w/o all the competetion.

This site is the reason Juan goes for so much.... I know when i joined i was buying em like crazy!

you just have 5 or 6 guys buying the same stuff -

Before we birth, we were competing. Competiton is everything, the rest just quit... However we all know Rob is going to sell! :p

I would not rule that out. I have had alot of contact with non Juan collectors wanting some of the rare stuff. ( set builders ) I may just break it up like Wil did. I just sold my car,never thought i would sell it. It is very hard to part with something you have had for 22 years,never thought i would part with it. So why not the Juan collection? I am on the right path with the car going first.

I hear ya Rob...Ive often thought of life without my collection...but dont think i would ever do it...while its not nearly as large as yours...i love my collection as u do yours...

Unless someone in the family is sick and you need the cash, don't do it. Cars are a lot easier to get over.
