I'd just like to say this - but before I do let me make it clear that I am a Jeff Bagwell fan and have absolutely nothing against the man. This example is only to point out how ridiculous this award going to Gonzalez really is. Jeff Bagwell made $53,369,019 from 04-06. During which he hit .263 totaled 30 HR and 108 RBI. This is not an average, these were his total stats! And he didn't even step foot on the field in 2006! Gonalez had better numbers than that in the 2001 season alone and made nearly 7 million less over the entire decade than Bagwell did in those 3 years! But everybody loves Jeff Bagwell, which is perfectly fine, this is just another example of people in the media picking on Gonzalez because of some personal bias.
